Weekday Wardrobe

This week’s weekday wardrobe. Monday was a holiday – Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone enjoyed a 4 day work week. I sure did! Although, it was jam packed last weekend with the Swim24 Challenge. Which exhausted me, and now this week, I’m trying to catch up on blogging, sleep, and just things around the house and errands. Like get my oil changed! Dang, that always sneaks up on me!

1

Top – Urban Outfitters // Jeans – Free People // Shoes – Michael Kors

2

Top – H&M // Jeans – Tilly’s // Shoes – Vans // Bracelet – Francesca’s // Earrings – Bay to Baubles (from a StitchFix shipment)

3

Hair – one side funky with the french braid, the other side classy with the low messy bun.

4

Dress – 41Hawthorn (StitchFix) // Shoes – Michael Kors // Bracelet – 31Bits (StitchFix) // Earrings – Claire’s

I usually blow dry my hair with my head flipped over, today I blew it dry like how hair stylist do. To be honest, I’m not sure I really notice a difference. I feel like when I flip my head over, it gives me more volume. Do you flip your head over or blow dry standing up straight?

6

Casual Friday this week. I honestly just felt like being in my workout clothes, even though I didn’t workout yesterday. Top – lululemon (power Y) // Pants – lululemon (wunder under crops) // Shoes – Saucony Kinvara 5

This is the I want to look cute, but I’m too lazy to blow dry my hair look. I often do this little twisty thing in my hair when my hair is wet, and I don’t want to actually do it. Going to try to put together a vlog series of the different hairstyles I do, because if I can do them, you can! 🙂

Happy Weekend!

xoxo!

Style Thursday – My First Stitchfix

I first heard about Stitchfix when my friend, Christine, posted a photo on Instagram. I then went to the website, and thought, man what a cool idea. I started scrolling through their blog, and I knew immediately I wanted to try it out. I mean, who doesn’t want a personal stylist? I LOVE to look cute, and I have my own personal flare, but honestly, I would rather have someone else pick out my clothes. I get overwhelmed when I’m shopping, and get exhausted trying on clothes and different sizes, etc. I am not afraid of trying something new, and the investment was only $20. And if you keep anything, that $20 goes towards what you buy.

So…I filled out this amazingly detailed questionnaire. I was like, “This is awesome!” My stylist is totally going to know who I am. I do think it helped to give a little extra detail in addition to what they provided. I also think it was helpful to share my Pinterest board of “my style”, as well as share my Instagram, so that my stylist could get a feel for “me”. I picked a date, and boom, all I had to do was wait and see. My wait time was about one month, which I would say is just about right. It gave my stylist a chance to get to know me, and really pick out the right things for me to try. You also can set your budget, as in how much you would spend on a given top, dress, pants, etc.

I remember seeing my beautiful box waiting for me at my front door, and I was soooo excited to see what was in store. It is seriously like Christmas! And I LOVE surprises, and this was going to be one fun surprise!

Of course, I opened it right away…

Inside, I got a very cute card from my stylist, Danya (p.s cool name!)

I started opening everything up. Inside each StitchFix, you receive 5 items. In mine, I received a dress, a pair of pants, two tops, and a necklace. My absolute FAVORITE part of the StitchFix is that your stylist shows you what to pair the items with. Each item, the stylist will show you two different ways to wear it. Dress it up, or dress it down. So, fun, then you can comb through your closet and create outfits similar to the suggestions given.

Whatever you don’t want to keep, you can send back in this handy dandy packaging envelope that they give already pre-addressed for you!

So, let’s be real…I immediately wanted to try everything on, see how it looked, felt, and fit! I’m not kidding, I was IMPRESSED!!!! Everything fit me to a T! Like literally to a T. And amazingly enough I had something in my closet that at least resembled one of the outfits suggested on the card given to me. Here is what my outfits ended up looking like…

The Le Sample, Kahlo Embroidered Racerback Tank – I paired it with my black jeans from Free People, and my Michael Kors charcoal heels, and my diamond stud earrings from Brighton.

As you might suspect, I ended up keeping all 5 items! What can I say? I loved it all. If you keep all 5 items, you get a discount, which is pretty awesome. I can’t wait to try these 5 pieces with the other suggestions made on the card too! Which of the five pieces is your favorite? Which outfit is your favorite?

So, go ahead give StitchFix a try! I promise you’ll love it! I couldn’t believe how perfectly everything fit, and how it was totally my style. LOVE. Thanks Danya! Can’t wait for my next StitchFix in March!
